Ondo APC Primaries Draw Massive Turnout Amid Peaceful, Credible Exercise

Party members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State turned out in large numbers on Friday for the House of Representatives direct primaries, lauding the exercise as peaceful, orderly, and transparent.
Held across the state’s 203 wards, the primaries were marked by calm and disciplined participation, reflecting the political maturity of the electorate. Party chieftains and aspirants praised the mechanisms implemented by the APC leadership to ensure a seamless process.
Speaking to journalists, Akure South Local Government Chairman Gbenga Fasua highlighted the responsible conduct of party members, noting that voters freely expressed their preferences without coercion or violence. “Akure people have a culture of comportment and orderly conduct. The turnout was impressive, and the process remained free, fair, and credible across all wards,” he said.
Omowunmi Olatunji-Ohwovoriole, an aspirant for the Akure South/Akure North Federal Constituency seat, also commended the exercise, describing it as well-organized, peaceful, and largely free of conflict.
The primaries were conducted under tight security, ensuring a smooth and credible election across the state. Party leaders and members alike celebrated the successful conduct as a demonstration of the APC’s commitment to internal democracy.
