Four Arraigned Over Idoani Kidnapping, Murder After Multi-State Police Operation

By Olusegun HOSEA | June 25, 2026
Four suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate have been arraigned by the Ondo State Police Command following a coordinated interstate manhunt linked to the abduction of Kehinde Yisa and the murder of a 50-year-old man, Bako, in Ago Baale, Idoani, earlier this year.
The suspects — Umar Ibrahim, 23, Musa Abdullateef, 26, Ojo Sikiru, 40, and Oseni Waheed, 43 — were apprehended in separate operations across Oyo and Ogun states after months of intelligence gathering and surveillance by the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad.
According to the Police, the incident occurred on March 3, 2026, in Ago Baale, Idoani, where Kehinde Yisa was kidnapped while Bako was allegedly murdered during the criminal operation.
The case, initially handled by the Idoani Division, was later transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Squad for a more extensive investigation. Through forensic tracking, technical analysis, and credible intelligence, detectives traced members of the gang beyond Ondo State, leading to the eventual arrest of the four principal suspects.
Police said Umar Ibrahim, Musa Abdullateef, and Ojo Sikiru were arrested at different locations in Oyo State, while Oseni Waheed was apprehended in Ogun State following intelligence-led surveillance.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly made confessional statements detailing their individual roles in the conspiracy, kidnapping, and murder.
The Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, CP Felix Ohagwu, commended the operatives for their determination and professionalism in pursuing the suspects across state boundaries, describing the operation as another milestone in the Command’s fight against violent crimes.
He reiterated the Command’s commitment to intelligence-driven policing and the deployment of modern investigative tools, including forensic analysis, to track criminal elements regardless of their location.
Following the completion of investigations, the four suspects have been charged to court, while efforts continue to apprehend other members of the syndicate still at large.
The Police Command also urged residents to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could help prevent crime and facilitate the arrest of criminals.
