Osun Election: We are confident of winning the election — Hon. Adeosun
The Legislative Leader of Olorunda Local Government, Osun State, Hon. Adeosun Muyideen, popularly known as Hon. Adeosun has expressed confidence that his political team will emerge victorious in the forthcoming Osun election.
Adeosun stated this while speaking on the level of preparedness ahead of the election, saying extensive mobilisation, house-to-house campaigns and engagements with residents across the wards had strengthened their confidence.
According to him, politicians and political parties must be fully prepared for every election, adding that his team had been working towards victory since the commencement of its preparations.
“Through our mobilisation and efforts in reaching out to our people directly, we have done a lot of house-to-house campaigns. We have done a lot of things that have given us serious and real confidence that, by tomorrow, by His grace, we shall be victorious,” he said.
The Olorunda legislative leader also highlighted some interventions carried out by the local government under the financial autonomy granted to local governments.
He said roads in several communities, including Kelebe, Ota-Efun and Agunbelewo, had been graded to improve accessibility for residents.
Adeosun further disclosed that the local government had introduced empowerment programmes for traders, with about 1,500 beneficiaries reportedly receiving N50,000 each on a monthly basis.
He said the initiatives were aimed at improving the economic well-being of residents and strengthening the relationship between the local government and the people.
The council leader also said about 1,500 sacked Teachers who had previously been disengaged were re-employed by Olorunda Local Government under the financial autonomy arrangement.
According to him, the teachers have been receiving their monthly salaries since their re-engagement.
He added that the local government was planning to create opportunities for other residents who were yet to secure meaningful employment.
Adeosun maintained that the financial autonomy of local governments had been utilised in Olorunda in a “very reasonable way,” stressing that the administration would continue to implement programmes aimed at improving the welfare of residents.
